Road
Dover enjoys good road connections, the M20 motorway puts London less than 90 minutes away and the M20 connects directly to the M25 from here the rest of Britain's motorway network is accessible. Remember that if crossing the Dartford Crossing on the M25 you must remember to login to their website within 24 hours to pay the toll. However during the night the toll does not apply. Recommend that you check their website for timings.

Coach
If you want to get to Dover by Coach, National Express operates regular daily services from all over the country to several stops in Dover, including inside the Ferry Port. The stop is just a short two minute walk from the check-in desk and arrivals hall.

Rail
Dover offers direct services to London Waterloo & London Charing Cross and is well connected to the UK's major cities. Dover Priory is the nearest railway station to the Ferry Port, which is right in the heart of the Town, where Buses and Taxis are close. Whilst it is possible to walk from the railway station to the port it will take a good twenty minutes or so and is not recommended if you have luggage. If travelling from the North your train ticket should allow you the use of the Highspeed service from London St. Pancras to Dover. This is significantly faster than the other options available and very easy and convenient if travelling into London Kings Cross as there is step free access from one station to another with a walking time of just a couple of minutes.

Overnight Accommodation
If you want to stop overnight in Dover prior to catching an early morning ferry there are plenty of local Guest Houses and B&B's. There are also two chain hotels very near the port, a Premier Inn just outside the port and a Travellodge nearly opposite just a little bit further away from the port. The Travellodge is part of the new shopping complex being built in Dover and is due to open in 2018. The Premier Inn is my recommendation, but do call them after booking and ask for a sea view otherwise road noise may keep you awake. It is 10 minutes walk from the Premier Inn to the Check-in Desk for foot passengers.

Car Parking and Prices
The Port of Dover is undergoing a major upgrade and remodelling, therefore there is no car parking available.
