  • A cookie will be placed on your computer if you click on any of the links or banners taking you to the official P&O website.
  • A cookie will be placed on your computer if you use any of the social networking buttons at the bottom of the pages. This allows me to track which pages and what content is being shared over the social networks.
  • A basic cookie will be placed on your computer by Google, this allows me to get information about which pages are being visited, how, when, where from but more crucially if any problems with the site develop. Nothing in this information identifies you.
What is a cookie?
Cookies are text files containing small amounts of information which are downloaded to your device when you visit a website. You can learn more about all the cookies used by this site below.
Anonymous Visitor Statistics Cookies
This site uses cookies to compile visitor statistics such as how many people have visited the website, what type of technology they are using (e.g. Mac or Windows which helps to identify when the site isn't working as it should for particular technologies), how long they spend on the site, what page they look at etc. This helps me to continuously improve the website. These so called 'analytics' programs also tell me if, on an anonymous basis, how people reached this site (e.g. from a search engine) and whether they have been here before. The software used to provide these statistics is provided by Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files saved on your computer, to help the website analyse how you use the site.
Affiliate Cookies
Affiliates are trade partners aimed at businesses marketing themselves via third party websites. This site has such a relationship and promotes certain services, namely travel via P&O Ferries, on a success-only basis (i.e. instead of paying me for displaying advertising, they pay me commissions on sales). Cookies are required to allow them to reward its partners and these cookies are provided by specialist companies (known as affiliate networks). Neither myself nor the network are able to identify you personally, only P&O Ferries can identify you and that is because you have booked with them. I ask you to support me by allowing these cookies which ultimately help me earn a small percentage of commission which is used in the operational running costs of this website. Please remember this website is run as a hobby and in my spare time so it is not a business and never will be. All the commissions earned are spent on travelling to and from visits to the ships from my home in Lincolnshire.
